Muscogee County Sheriff's Office announces historic drug bust

COLUMBUS, Ga (WRBL) - Muscogee County Sheriff's Office just announced the largest heroin and methamphetamine bust in Muscogee County history.

The Sheriff's Office says $4.1 million dollars worth of heroin and methamphetamine, $42,800 in cash, and two vehicles were seized from a home on Alta Vista Drive on Wednesday, November 29th.

42-year-old Anayanssy Espinosa and 33-year-old Ezequiel Rangel-Barajas a.k.a. Jose Hernandez were arrested at the home and charged with one count each of Trafficking in Heroin and Trafficking in Methamphetamine.

The bust is the result of an 8-month-long joint investigation by the Muscogee County Sheriff's Office and ICE Homeland Security Investigations in Atlanta.
