COLUMBUS, Ga. — One man is injured suffering burns from a natural gas explosion at the Fleet Pride warehouse Monday.
A News 3 reporter confirms the fire started shortly before 11 a.m. at the building near the Woodruff Road and Manchester Expressway intersection.
Fire Marshal Ricky Shores says the fire started when a forklift hit a gas meter and caused an explosion. Liberty Utility was able to cut off the gas line around 12 p.m. to prevent more gas from feeding into the building.
The injured man was taken to Midtown Medical Center for treatment, but his name and condition are still unknown at this time. WRBL reached out to Fleet Pride’s corporate office in Irving, Texas, but no information has been given.
