A local animal shelter says they have a few puppies that are asking you to be their valentine. Animal Care and Control Center held a speical Valentine’s Day event today. Kids were able to make cards for the dogs and leave treats in bags that were hanging on their kennels.
Contreana Pearson says today’s event was to encourage those to adopt a rescue dog for their loved one this Valentine’s Day.
“The volunteers have done a lot of work today. They have actually came in and dressed the whole place up for Valentine’s Day. They brought refreshments, they put balloons up, they are helping people to go back and look at the dogs and check the dogs out, do meet and greets with the animals to see if you’re actual dog likes the other dogs and they’re just trying to do everything they can to get these wonderful dogs adopted today,” Pearson said.
Pearson says within the first hour there were four adoptions. There are 16 more dogs available for adoption and there are 24 in pending.
