The Americus Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a man suspected in a shooting Tuesday night that left one man hospitalized.
According to a news release from the department, officers responded to Crawley St. shortly before 10:30 p.m. in reference to a shooting.
When they arrived, they found Emanuel King, Jr. suffering from a gunshot wound. King was transported to Phoebe Sumter Regional medical Center and later to Navicent Medical Center in Macon. His condition, according to the release is unknown.
Police have named 25-year-old Garrick Ryme as a suspect in the case and are asking for the public’s help in finding him.
He’s described as being between 5′ 9″ and 5′ 11″ tall, weighing approximately 210lbs. He was last seen wearing brown pants and black coat.
Police say he should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
he has several outstanding warrants related to the incident including for aggravated assault.
