Angry Veterans voice VA concerns at Columbus Town Hall on Wednesday

Local News

COLUMBUS, Ga. – The Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System is doing its part to address situations surrounding our veterans.

Representatives from the Veterans Health Administration, Veterans Benefits Administration, and more were in attendance at the Columbus Public Library on Wednesday.

There was also a good turnout of veterans and some of them were pretty angry.

Representatives say the purpose of today’s town hall was to not only address certain concerns, but to also update the veterans on the plans that the Healthcare System has in place.

One of the big plans is to bring a much larger VA Clinic to Columbus.

Officials say, it’s expected to be finished by fall of 2020.

There was a veteran present who mentioned being upset about long lines at some of the clinics in the area.

He says he and his ten brothers served a total of more than 150 years in the service.

He shares his concerns about the military when it comes to his family’s recognition.
