AUBURN, Ala.- Auburn City Schools is now a top five school district in the state, according to a Niche.com ranking.
The rankings are based on test scores, college readiness, parent and community surveys and other factors.
Superintendent of Auburn City Schools, Karen Delano says it is affirming to receive the recognition, and they are proud of it. She says receiving the honor was a team effort. Superintendent Delano says this ranking is special because it comes from an outside source.
“It’s more than just a school system,” Superintendent Delano said. “Nobody: superintendent, teachers, principals in our school system can do what we do for our kids without the community, the parents, everybody working together is what creates that kind of opportunities we have here in Auburn.”
In the ranking: Auburn City Schools received an A+ in academics, B+ in health and safety, 4.2 out of 5 on parent/student surveys on overall experience, A on teachers, A- on resources and facilities grade, A- extracurriculars and activities grade and A- on sports and fitness grade.
