BANK ROBBERY: Police release identity of suspects involved in Lanett robbery

Police released the identity of the suspects involved in the Farmers & Merchants Bank robbery.

The driver was identified as 22-year-old LaMartrez Oshun Story of Lafayette, Al. The two passengers were 25-year-old Jacobie Tionne Phillips and 22-year-old Cordero Jakevion Story. They are both from Valley, Alabama. 

All three have been charged with 1st-degree Robbery.

The bank will remain closed Tuesday, July 24th.

LANETT, Ala (WRBL) — Lanett Police confirm multiple suspects are in custody after robbing the Farmers & Merchants Bank along Cusseta Road across from Huguley Elementary.

The robbery happened Tuesday afternoon and the suspects were captured thanks to the help of an eyewitness and a nearby Lanett Police patrol unit.

The witnesses provided descriptions of the suspects. The robbers were described as two males wearing dark shirts, gloves and something covering their faces. They were seen running behind the Chicken Stop.  They also told cops the suspects got into a red Ford Mustang. The Mustang reportedly went speeding South on Cusseta Road. 

Police were able to locate the vehicle on County Rd 83. Captain Robert Chambers, of the Drug Task Force, initiated the traffic stop at 12:44 p.m. Police say there were three people in the vehicle.

All three have been charged with 1st-degree Robbery.

The bank will remain closed Tuesday, July 24th.
