Authorities confirm they’ve located the body of a child in the Bibb Pond area of the Chattahoochee River, presumed to be that of 4-year-old Beau Rabon.

The body of Beau’s father 27-year-old James R. Rabon was found on Sunday.

The father and son went missing last week.  Authorities say that witnesses told them that the father and son were fishing at Bibb Pond on Wednesday, March 28.  Bystanders said they saw Beau fall into the water, and his father dove into the water to save him.

On Thursday, authorities brought in sophisticated sonar technology to aid in the search to help them see more detailed into the depths and crevices of the Chattahoochee River.

Dive teams and rescue workers have worked tirelessly since both disappeared to locate both of them. But the conditions of the water, including debris, current, and water levels, all worked against the search.

The family has given WRBL permission to share the link to the GoFundMe page set up to aid Rabon’s wife and surviving children. You can find that information here.
