Red Devils dominate Thompson to win 7A Championship

AUBURN, Ala., (WRBL) The Central High School Red Devils of Phenix City dominate their way to the 7A State Championship victory inside Auburn's Jordan-Hare Stadium.

The final score was Red Devils 52 and Thompson Warriors 7.

News 3's Elizabeth White spoke with Lateisha Floyd before the game as her son, Amontae Spivey,  and the other Central High School players were making their way into Jordan-Hare before kickoff.  Floyd's son is the number one running back in the state.  Spivey wears number 24 and has committed to play at Arkansas.

Wednesday night Central won the Class 7A Championship in Jordan-Hare Stadium against Thompson High School. The last time Central won a state championship was back in 1993.

Players and coaches have said from day one of the 2018 season they wanted to win for their community.  Wednesday night their hard work paid off in a dominating performance on the gridiron.
