An Auburn man is in the Lee County Jail after a burglary investigation.

Auburn police say 45-year-old Christopher Joe Whitlow was arrested on warrants charging him with Burglary 3rd Degree, Theft of Property 3rd Degree, and two counts of Theft of Property 4th Degree.

According to a release from the police department, Whitlow’s arrest stems from an investigation into a burglary and theft that was reported to police back on September 4, 2018 in the 300 block of Industry Drive.

Police say tools belonging to both the business, as well as employees, were taken. Evidence at the scene was collected and sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences. DNA analysis has identified Christopher as the suspect in the case.

Whitlow was taken into custody at his residence by Auburn Police without incident; he was later transported to the Lee County Jail where he was held on a $6,500 bond.

This case remains under investigation by the Auburn Police Division and the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.
