SMITHS STATION, Ala. (WRBL) – The city of Smiths Station announced a new mayor was sworn in on Wednesday.
Earlier today, Mayor Richard Cooley was sworn in by Circuit Judge Jeff Tickel.
The city says that based on Alabama code 1975-44G-2, the city council was able to unanimously vote for Cooley to serve until the next municipal election in 2025.
