March 15, following the annual State of the City address at the Cunningham Center, the Greater Columbus, Georgia Chamber of Commerce announced that they had been awarded a five star national accreditation rating.

The accreditation is awarded by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and has a very exclusive status with the award. Columbus joins only 124 other Chamber of Commerces around the country to earn such a prestigious award, according to the Columbus organization.
