A Columbus church teamed up with a Bleeker, Ala., church to feed first responders and volunteers who have been working in the aftermath of the tornado that ripped through Lee County on Sunday.

Second Story, the student ministry of First Baptist Church in Columbus, worked with Concord Baptist Church to feed the workers lunch on Wednesday.

Brandon Strozier, who is the young adult minister at First Baptist, said his group just wanted to help.

“It’s hard to find a way to help sometimes, even with so much need,” Stozier said. “We are going to be working at some houses this afternoon. We have a meal that we normally serve to Columbus State University students in uptown Columbus. So, we just moved that meal here to Smiths Station.”
