Columbus man charged in dog attack

Local News

A Columbus man is facing charged after a recent dog attack.

33-year-old Deaunte Nobles was arrested on seven counts of reckless conduct.

The victim in the dog attack was reportedly mauled by three pitbulls on Aug. 11 on Earline Avenue near 38th Street.

Because the mauling was so severe, both of the victim’s arms had to be amputated following the attacking.

According to the police report, the three animals were not properly contained by nobles.

They also had a history of aggression prior to the attack.

Police say Nobles sent a witness away following the attack – telling the witness he would call the police himself.

That witness told police he returned to the scene two hours later where he found the victim lying on the road bleeding profusely.

Police also say when animal control came to take the dogs – Nobles did not turn the dogs over and instead hid them at another location.
