Columbus mayor explains how city will handle disposal of thousands of downed trees

Local News

This good news for people in Columbus dealing with downed trees and wondering how they will get them hauled off.

There are a lot of trees down throughout north Columbus. News 3 caught up with Columbus Mayor on how the city will handle the massive debris pickup that is coming over the next few days and weeks.

“We’re going to waive the fee for the tree program. There will be no charge. So, if anybody has some of the trees they need to cut up and put on the side of the road, we will pick it up. If anybody lives on a private road and needs to dump their own stuff at a landfill, if they will call 311 we will give them a certificate where they can do that for free, too.”
