The Columbus Museum will hold the opening reception for the Fort Benning at 100 exhibit, tonight at 6 p.m.
The exhibit is a chronological tour of the post, and includes uniforms, pictures and paintings to commemorate the centennial year at Fort Benning. All items in the exhibit have yet to be seen by the public.
The new Commanding General of the U.S. Army Maneuver Center of Excellence at Fort Benning, Major General Gary M. Brito will provide the opening remarks at tonight’s reception.
In addition to ‘Fort Benning at 100’, the museum is also displaying ‘From Swords to Plowshares: Metal Trench Art from World War I. The artwork in that exhibit was created by soldiers and civilians during the war.
