Columbus Police find a man shot on Winston Road

COLUMBUS, Ga (WRBL) - Columbus Police found a man shot on Winston Road Saturday.

Police say 43-year-old Darrell Boggans was the only victim in the shooting, but this isn't the first time he was wounded after being shot. Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Brian says Boggans was also involved in a shooting on Andrew's Road this past Easter.

24-year-old Alec Spencer was shot and killed in that shooting.

He was also the same person that was shot on Easter with two others, and one of them died. He did not. And then he was shot yesterday evening, and was pronounced at Midtwon Medical Center emergency room," said Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan.

Boggans's body is at the GBI crime lab in Atlanta for an autopsy. Authorities say Boggans has a history of similar incidents, and the case is being investigated as a homicide.

This is the 12th murder in Columbus of 2018.
