According to livability.com, Columbus, Georgia is ranked one of the top 10 cities this year for retirees to live.
Research shows the city of Columbus is popular for residents living over the age of 65 due to affordable healthcare, running & bike trails and its cost of living. Mayor Teresa Tomlinson says she’s not surprised the city was recognized for its 3 qualities because the city population keeps on growing.
“We believe those are factors that are very strong for Columbus Georgia. we’ve been working on them in our Columbus 2025 plan to improve Columbus so it’s nice to get this recognition from livability.com” says Teresa Tomlinson, Mayor of Columbus.
Data sources were based-off on small to medium sized populations from 20,000 to 300,000.
Mayor Tomlinson also says the museums and the colleges here in Columbus is what makes it a great place to live.
