Columbus to suspend Monday trash pickup ahead of solar eclipse

Local News

COLUMBUS, Ga. — The Columbus Consolidated Government announces Monday’s trash pickup will be cut off early ahead of the upcoming solar eclipse.

A press release says trash pickup will be cut off at noon before Monday’s eclipse reaches the Valley. The release says inmates who pick up the community’s garbage will need to be returned to their housing facilities for “possible health and safety hazards.”

The entire Monday trash route will be rerun on Wednesday.
