Cowork Columbus brings shared work space concept to Chattahoochee Valley

Local News

A workplace concept that has taken hold in larger cities across the country is making its debut in a historic downtown Columbus mill building. The W.C. Bradley Company is opening Cowork Columbus, a shared membership workspace in Eagle & Phenix Mill No. 3.

WRBL News 3 got a sneak peek Thursday afternoon and a tour from Bradley Company Real Estate Division President Pace Halter.

People will be able to use office space, dedicated desks and flexible seats in the 7,000 square foot space at the intersection of Front Avenue and 12th Street.

This concept is new to Columbus, but it’s not a new concept, Halter said.

“It is a similar concept to WeWork, Roam or Spaces,” he said “There’s a number of these around the country. This is new to Columbus and we have created the brand Cowork Columbus specifically for this space.”

There is not a typical customer that W.C. Bradley is targeting, Halter said.

“The folks that we have seen so far are subsidiaries, secondary or third locations for companies from out of town that just want to have a small presence in Columbus to entrepreneurial startups,” he said. “It’s one-, two-, three-person shops all the way down to individual real estate agents, designers. There is really not a typical.”

There are a number of plans available for those wishing to utilize the space.

For $200 per month, a person can access to the facility and use the flexible workspace that will be available. For $300 a month, there is access to conference room space and the copy machine.

There are multiple conference rooms in the space and that can accommodate meetings up to 12 people.

The Bradley Company has invested nearly $1 million in getting the space renovated and furnished for the venture.
