CPD opens book donation community project

Local News

COLUMBUS, Ga — The Columbus Police Department holds a ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday on their project to encourage reading in our community.

The Little Free Library is a book “give-one-take-one” donation hutch where police will donate books to put inside and anyone can come take a book to read or donate one themselves.

The Little Free Library Organization started in 2009 as a way to improve reading, literacy, and relations with the community.

The new installment will be at the police department’s south precinct inside the Frank D. Chester Recreation Center at 1441 Benning Drive.
