A murder suspect will soon learn the status of his immunity after claiming self-defense in a shooting death investigation last year.
As News 3 previously reported, 22-year-old Kendrevious Duma was charged with the murder of 20-year-old Ty’Quavious Jackson in April of 2017.
According to the Opelika Auburn news, Dumas claims he shot Jackson out of self-defense and that Jackson had robbed him and threatened him at gunpoint.
Police say Jackson was shot nine times by Dumas.
Prosecutors and the defense now have 10 days to submit letter briefs for a decision on the claim of immunity by Dumas.
