HARRIS COUNTY, Ga. – Harris County Coroner Joe Weldon confirms to News 3 that two boys are dead after an early morning crash Monday.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials around 12:45 a.m Monday, a 2014 Nissan Rogue was traveling south on Hamilton-Mulberry Grover Road where the Nissan traveled trough a stop sign and continued traveling south across both lanes of Georgia State Road 315. The vehicle traveled off the south shoulder and struck a tree and overturned.
A total of five people were in the car at the time of the crash. The driver was the father of the children and the passenger was a family friend were transported to Midtown Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
8-year-old Richard Farrell and 7-year-old John Farrell were pronounced dead on the scene of the crash. A 4-year-old also involved in the crash was taken to Midtown Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
32-year-old Christopher Farrell, the driver of the vehicle, was charged with two counts of homicide by vehicle in the 1st degree, DUI, and other charges.
