East Alabama experiences a boom in economic growth

Smiths Station’s city officials recently announced they’re welcoming their second national retailer.

Love’s travel stop and country store is making its way to Smiths Station and it is great news for the city’s economy, according to Smiths Station’s city officials.

The national retailer will break ground at the corner of Lee Road 248 and Highway 280/431 on January 9th, 2019.

The store is expected to create about thirty jobs and help promote future commercial and economic development, according to Mayor F.L. Bubba Copeland.  

This development is the first dominoe to fall in what they hope to be a chain of future economic development, according to the East Alabama Chamber of Commerce’s C.E.O Dennis Beson.
