It’s possible the city of columbus may finally be getting electronic scooters, as a new way to travel and admire uptown columbus.
For the past couple of weeks discussions on the idea have been in the works, bringing dockless E-scooters to the area. The city is looking to give residents more transportation options and offer drivers solutions to traffic and parking problems. There are some concerns about the scooter proposal. Among those concerns, the safety hazard from E-scooters left abandoned on public sidewalks.
“Whether it’s with bikes or garbage we have a team, we have ambassadors that are on the street seven days a week. We do a lot of maintence on cleaning throught the week and that would include anything that comes in like scooters or other elements,” says Ross Horner, President of Uptown Columbus.
If the city agrees, Horner says he would like to see E-scooters in the city sometime in the Summer when tourism numbers are up.
If successful, it’s possible dockless bikes can make their way to the area.
