Family plans vigil for father and son murdered on Stuart Drive

Local News

Family members of the two victims murdered on Stuart Dr. earlier this week say the loss they feel is overwhelming.

They tell News 3 they are having hard time trying to make sense of what happened, as police work to find a double-murderer.

Joseph “Jo-Jo” Banks and his son Ja’Ceiden Banks were gunned down outside a home on Stuart Dr. Tuesday morning. On Wednesday, police located a pickup truck connected to the case on Henry Drive.  Police say the father and son were last seen getting into that truck with an unidentified man early Tuesday morning.

Investigators found that truck thanks to a citizen tip and they say so far the community is responding to their requests for help in solving these brutal murders.

Joseph and Ja’Ceiden’s family says they have faith that someone will come forward and give police the information they need to make an arrest.

The family has planned a candlelight vigil at the scene of the murders Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m.
