Who doesn’t celebrate the 7th of March? Of the 8th? Or the 9th?

The National Fireworks Association is holding its convention in Columbus and Thursday night a two-hour fireworks show was held at the Columbus Civic Center from 7-9. There will be similar shows Friday and Saturday night, according to Peter Bowden, president of the Columbus Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The show, which has about 250 attendees, is closed to the public, but people can gather near the Civic Center on Victory Drive to witness it, Bowden said.

“This is the first time we have had this convention and we hope it turns into repeat business,” Bowden said. “Plus, it gives the public an opportunity to see an amazing fireworks show.”

The convention is for people who run fireworks stands. The fireworks shows are featuring techniques and product.
