FOLLOW-UP: Man identified in death investigation in Lee County

The Lee County Coroner’s Office has identified the person who died in Lee County.

Lee County Coroner Bill Harris says 74-year-old Michael Magill was found unresponsive on Monday morning just before noon. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to a press release from the Lee County Coroner’s Office, Magill was found by a relative when she came to his residence to check on him.

Authorities say as of now in the death investigation, there were no obvious signs of trauma to Magill’s body, but the cause and manner of death could not be determined.

Magill’s body was taken to the medical examiner’s office of the Alabama Dept. of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery for the autopsy.

No other details are available at this time as it is an ongoing investigation by the Lee County Sheriff’s office and the Lee County Coroner’s office.
