Gas prices drop significantly at two Columbus stations

The gas war continues for two Columbus gas stations.

Columbus, Ga- If you've filled up your tank lately, then you've certainly noticed an increase in gas prices. But that isn't the case for two gas stations on St. Mary's Road in Columbus. The two competing stations are in an all-out gas war, with prices dropping by the minute and customers waiting in line to save on fuel. A store employee and one grateful customer shared their thoughts on the price drop with News 3.

"Well we just opened and we always like to be two cents cheaper than any other store that we have, and as long as he goes down we'll go down," says convenience store cashier Amanda Hamlin.

"I can't believe it's so cheap, but sometimes you just don't gotta ask about why...just tell Jesus thank you and keep it moving," added Columbus resident Charles Wimberly Jr..

According to AAA, the national gas average is currently $2.80 for a gallon of regular unleaded.
