The roadways along Georgia Highway 315 have been cleared of debris after tree limbs and power lines blocked travelers on their commute. The highway has been re-opened for travelers since yesterday afternoon.
The Georgia Department of Transportation has crew workers sawing, and hauling out trees to the side of the roads.
News 3 spoke with one driver and she says she’s glad to see the roads clear, but is using caution while driving past the workers.
“The road conditions right now are passable you can tell there was great destruction everywhere. We have to slow down of course, but we just thank God there’s no loss of life either way in our home in Talbotton,” says Shirley McCants, Talbotton resident.
Brooks says due to the large amount of debris there’s no timeframe when the workers will be done clearing along the highway.
