Georgia Senate School Safety Committee discuss more school safety in Friday meeting

CATTOOSSA COUNTY, GA - A meeting was held in Cattoossa County on Friday involving the Georgia Senate School Safety Committee. 

Law Enforcement, State Trauma Officials, and others presented ideas for school safety. 

Ideas ranged from "Run, Hide, Survive" plans, to adding puncture wound kits in classrooms. 

However, some parents and students stated one topic wasn't discussed. 

"The word gun, they didn't use the word gun," one attendee said. 

"Well yeah, I believe we needed to focus goal of this committee protect our schools and wanted to stay laser focused," Senator John Albers said. 

The next meeting will be in Albany on Aug. 24.
