A world renown artist from Columbus has been fostering the creative juices of some local homeless folks.
Bo Bartlett and other local artists spend time each week helping members of the homeless community express their artistic talents through a program called “Home is Where the Art Is.”
Tuesday evening the public was invited to tour the Bo Bartlett Center on the CSU campus in Uptown.
Artwork by the homeless was on exhibit, along with the art of the other community outreach programs that Bartlett is involved in.
“The art is for sale, and so 100 percent of the proceeds go to the participants, the artists who make this work. So it’s an opportunity for them to have some income,” says Bo Bartlett.
Bartlett says this is the fourth year they have held an art exhibit for the homeless. But it’s the first year it’s been on display at the Bo Bartlett Center.
