COLUMBUS, Ga. – Wednesday is Wear Purple Day for Domestic Violence Awareness, which is during Domestic Violence Awareness month. Tiarra Williams with Hope Harbour, a domestic violence shelter, says Georgia is 17th in the nation when it comes to deaths due to intimate partners.
She says aggression is one of the warning signs to look out for.
“Jealousy. Manipulation. Controlling behaviors. Just always trying to where you’re at, who you’re with all that. Just the little things that may be subtle,” Williams said.
Hope Harbour has a crisis line staffed 24/7 for anyone who is seeking help.
