BUTLER, Ga (WRBL) — The GBI is investigating an aggravated assault where investigators say a man used a baseball bat and a gun Saturday evening.
43-year-old Raymond Gibson is being charged with aggravated assault.
Gibson went up to 54-year-old Edwin Kruse outside of 36-year-old Christal Gibson’s, his ex-wife’s, house. That’s when Gibson shot Kruse in his abdomen and leg, according to the press release. Gibson then began to assault Kruse and his ex-wife with a baseball bat.
Kruse was transported to the Macon Medical Center by helicopter where he underwent surgery for his injuries, according to officials. Christal was treated for a broken arm and contusions to her hips and legs.
Kruse and Christal did survive.
Gibson was located and arrested without resistance. More charges are expected. Gibson is being held in the Taylor County Jail.
Butler Police Department asked the GBI to help investigate this case, according to the press release.
Once the investigation is completed, it will be turned over to the Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit DA’s Office for prosecution.
