Investigators working to learn more about an early morning shooting in Americus

Americus Police are working with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to learn more about an early morning shooting that left a 25-year-old man injured. 

Chief Mark Scott says officers were called to Phoebe Sumter Medical Center around 4:15 this morning after someone arrived at the facility with a gunshot wound.

About 30 minutes prior to that, police received a report of shots fired in the 200 block of Academy Street.  

Chief Scott says investigators are working to learn where the shooting happened and more on the circumstances surrounding it.
