Kool Smiles gives treats for troops

Local News

A local dentist office is working to keep kid’s smiles healthy while sweetening the lives of our service members.

Kool Smiles Columbus is offering kids a free toy in exchange for some of their Halloween candy.

It is part of the “Operation Troop Treats” program. Each year, Americans spend 2.5 billion dollars on Halloween candy.

At Kool Smiles, kids will get a toy for 25 pieces of candy. The candy must be in its original packaging. The sweet treats will be sent to those serving our country.

“We understand our troops can’t be home with their children for Halloween. So it is a good way to give back to those who are away,” says Jason Simon of Kool Smiles.

There is a limit of three toys per child.

In 2017, children donated more than four tons of candy through the Operation Troop Treats program. Kool Smiles will be collecting candy Friday, November 2, until Saturday, November 3.

The office is located at 4519 Woodruff Road. Hours are 8:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m. Friday and 9:00 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday.
