LaGrange High School students are soaring high after placing in the top Future Business Leaders of American (FBLA) Region Competition.
FBLA is a co-curricular organization that is all about two things: business and leadership. It is made up of student leaders who are interested in pursuing business as a future career.
Three members of LaGrange’s FBLA team attended the regional event and two walked away with 1st and 2nd place ribbons. Tiarra Stanley placed 2nd in Hospitality Management and Hassan Stargell placed 1st in Entrepreneurship.
The group is led by Laura Carroll, LaGrange High School’s Business and Marketing class teacher and FBLA adviser.
Carroll said she is proud of each of her students for competing in Region, “Our FBLA team showed great confidence in the subject matter and they represented LaGrange High and Troup County well.”
Regionals are held once a year, and this year all 15 counties within the region went to Buena Vista, Georgia to showcase their savvy business skills.
The top qualifiers in each event advance to the state competition in March. It will be held in Atlanta.
