Lee County gets ready to shift gears from rescue to recovery

 The owner of a farm in Beauregard tells News3 that he was here for the storm. Although the storm has passed the worst is not over. Officials in a news conference say that recovery could take up to months.

For people whose homes are destroyed the main shelter is Providence Baptist Church and you can also call 2-1-1. Coroner Bill Harris says they are still searching for people but he hopes transition from rescue to recovery very soon. 


“I understand they’re still searching I don’t know how long the search will go on. I was told that yesterday they’ve done all they can do on foot. They’ll have chainsaws and heavy equipment come in and they’ll be strategically moving the heavy stuff to make sure there’s nobody trapped underneath,”Harris said.
