Local activists were in court on Wednesday defending a dog they say was left in the heat with no water or food.
Activists also say the dog was found tethered to a basketball goal – in the backyard of an abandoned home in Columbus.
According to Chain Free Dogs in Columbus, a dog known as Skimp was found in that abandoned area last month.
They claim the incident happened in the 1500 Block of John Smith Ave.
There was a notice from the Columbus Animal Control and Enforcement Division saying that they were called out to the home for a possible animal ordinance violation.
There was also a request for the pet owner to give authorities a call.
Local activists say they won’t give up seeking justice for Skimp.
