Local agents say Columbus real estate is booming

Local News

COLUMBUS Ga. – Commercial real estate is booming in the Tri-City area. That’s according to local Real Estate Agent Jed Harris from Jed Harris Insurance, Real Estate and Business Development.

He says Columbus is appealing to many businesses because it’s the second largest city in Georgia and because there are so many colleges and universities in the area.

Georgia officials say residential and commercial real estate is up 17% in the state compared to last year.

Harris also says more historical homes are being turned into commercial properties because they have a special charm and curb appeal.

Mortgage rates are also becoming more affordable than ever, which is causing the demand to outweigh the supply for residential properties in the uptown area.
