Local restaurants launch 'Grubbin To Give for Mark Jones' fundraiser after life-altering accident

The week long fundraiser will run from July 9-15 at participating restaurants.

Columbus, Ga- Restaurants across the valley are opening their doors and sharing a portion of their profits over the next week for one of their own- restaurant owner Mark Jones. Jones is recovering from injuries sustained in a life-changing car accident that occurred in May, during a time when he was in between health insurance providers. Now without coverage, over 20 local restaurants are donating a portion of their proceeds to assist with his medical care. Supporters spoke to News 3 about why it was important for the community to come together in support of Jones during his time of need.

"I think he's done so much for downtown Columbus. We live in downtown Columbus and I just love all of his restaurants," says Columbus resident Peggy Decker.

"The outpouring of love and support that the community has given Mark through social media, through phone calls, through text messages, I really do believe has been an integral part in keeping him going," says Stephanie Woodham, Founder of Yalla Public Relations and a fundraiser organizer.

Mark Jones is currently undergoing rehabilitation therapy at The Shepherd Center in Atlanta.

"Grubbin' To Give for Mark Jones" will last through July 15. A list of participating restaurants can be found here.
