Make-A-Wish Georgia hosts Evening of Wishes to grant wishes for 34 Columbus children

Local News

Make-A-Wish Georgia hosted its ninth annual Evening of Wishing. The event raises funds to help grant wishes for 34 local children facing critical illnesses.
Make-A-Wish already helped six year old Neva Mitchell’s wish come true. Neva was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma in 2016 and all she wanted was to become a mermaid.
She was able to get her own mermaid’s tail and outfit to match. She says she hopes tonight’s event helps other children like her.

“I hope there’s come true too because this is the best place ever and I really hope other people can have the most fun and that they can have and all the bad memories will go and they’ll fill in with good memories and that’s just something to me and my families heart,” Mitchell said.

News 3’s Meterologist Bob Jeswald was there to welcome Mitchell on stage as she told everyone what make a wish meant to her. As of january of last year Mitchell has been in remission.
