Men plead guilty in Columbus tent murder

COLUMBUS, Ga (WRBL) - Two men charged in the killing of a homeless man have pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter.

Our media partner, The Ledger-Enquirer, reports the two pleaded guilty on Monday. 23-year-old Daquon Chisholm and 31-year-old Brian Harris were initially charged with the murder of William Edwards. Authorities say Edwards head was bashed in with the Butt of a piston in July of 2015 --with Chisholm and Harris arrested shortly thereafter.

Investigators say the victim sold drugs from his tent at the Bibb City homeless campsite and that is what Chisholm and Harris were after.

The two suspects took two bottles of prescription drugs and a quarter ounce of marijuana when they attacked Edwards.
