(WRBL) — The Georgia Department of Natural Resources warns motorists to be extra careful against deer in the roads until December.
While ordinarily a rare nuisance, wildlife experts say there will be more deer on the roads and around the Valley during the mammals’ peak mating season.
The DNR says cooler weather signals the deer to be more active. Experts say to use caution against deer darting into the road once cars startle them.
Deer are also herd animals so be careful of large numbers near roadways.
