Mother of Clayton Perry Jr. speaks out after hearing not guilty verdict

Local News

It has been an emotional rollercoaster for the mother of Clayton Perry Jr.  Since the verdict read “Not Guilty” for her son, the threats started to escalate off social media.

“Tired of everybody pointing fingers and harassing and now they got the truth, it should be over,” says Debra Mabry, mother of Clayton Perry Jr.

“18 year old Clayton Perry Jr. faced serious murder charges, as well as armed robbery aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The mother says over the past year its been difficult, not only on her, but also for his siblings.

“Oh, it did, it took a real bad toll on them, but hopefully it will be okay,” says Mabry.

With a fresh start, Mabry remains hopeful that her son can turn his life around.

“Most likely getting back involved with grandma and going back to school finally and find a little job, getting his little life back together,” says Mabry.

Despite the rocky relationship she had with her son, a mother love for her child is unconditional.

“It’s sad, we missed out on a lot of things going on that we had, especially family wise, but hopefully we can get it back how it used to be,” says Mabry.
