Muscogee County Democrats aim to turn Georgia blue

Local News

Columbus, Ga- The Muscogee Democratic Party has their sights set on helping turn Georgia and the US Congress blue in 2018. The local party is pushing to get voters educated, mobilized and to the polls during the critical Gubernatorial and mid-term elections.

Cobb County Democratic Chairman, Dr. Michael Owens, a former marine and president and CEO of US Global Center of Cyber Policy spoke during Tuesday’s meeting. He tells News 3 what he believes it will take for Georgia Democrats to be successful during the May primary.

“Our challenge is to get Democrats across the spectrum to get engaged, get involved and turn out the votes,” says Owens. “We know we have enough Democrats across the state to actually win this election and bring the Gubernatorial race home for a female for the first time in Georgia’s history.”

Owens tells News 3 that the Democratic Party’s success all comes down to voter turnout.
