ODENVILLE, Ala (WIAT)– There are over 100 Ford Mustangs on display representing the decades at the Mustang Museum of America.

The museum’s President, Bob Powell, spent over 30 years collecting the American sports car. He now has year models ranging from 1964 to 2015 with only a few years missing in between.

Some of the cars have limited edition paint jobs. Others are considered rare.

There’s even a 1976 Cobra that’s an exact replica of Farrah Fawcett’s iconic ‘Charlie’s Angels’ ride.

Powell also has a collection of law enforcement cars.

“We think it’s an excellent display. We have the largest display of police and highway patrol vehicles in the entire country, so we think that’s unique to us as well.”

The museum is a family affair. Powell says his sons work with him to restore each Mustang to its former glory.

The Mustang Museum of America was a few years in the works. The doors opened in March.

“It’s really a dream come true. I’ve thought about it for many years, collecting cars for many years. It’s something we felt we could share with the public,” says Powell.

It’s located on 49 Forman Farm Road in Odenville, AL.

They are open from 9 a.m.- 6 p.m. Thursday-Monday.

Powell adds, if you stop by on the weekend, be sure to say hello and share your best Mustang story.
