PHENIX CITY, Ala — The Phenix City Board of Education president says he has left his job in order to spend more time with his family.
Superintendent Randy Wilkes announces former President Rick Carpenter’s resignation during Thursday night’s school board meeting.
Carpenter wrote a letter to Wilkes explaining that he needed more time at home with his family.
Carpenter is also a real estate agent with Shepherd Brokers and says he plans to dedicate more time to the business as well.
Carpenter was only the board’s president for three months.
