In Columbus, new reports of gang violence are surfacing in the East Highland area.
Neighbors who live on 21st Street reached out to News 3 with their concerns.
They say, drive-by shootings, loud and long parties and also trash are big concerns for that street.
Concerned neighbors pointed out a home they say is at the center of controversy.
News Three reached out to those residents who live in the 1300 block of 21st as well.
Those neighbors tell News 3, they’re outraged, because according to them, they’re not doing any thing wrong.
News 3 was provided a police call sheet that shows police having responded to the home in the 13 hundred block, more than 20 times since 2016.
Columbus City Councilman Walker Garrett says East Highland is in his district.
He says he’s already been in talks with neighbors, Police Chief Ricky Boren, Mayor Teresa Tomlinson and more about what to do about the overall crime in the area.
He tells News 3, part of his plan includes ramping up police patrols in the East Highland neighborhood.
