ONLY ON 3: Victim’s identity released in Notasulga homicide investigation

NOTASULGA, Ala. (WRBL) – The body of a man discovered Wednesday afternoon on the side of Macon County Road 55 has now been identified by the Macon County Coroner’s Office. The State Bureau of Investigations is confirming to News 3; they are working a homicide investigation.

The Macon County Coroner’s Office reports the victim is 24-year-old Monterrious Bentley of Notasulga. His body was discovered around 2:30 Wednesday afternoon along CR 55. The cause of death is still under investigation.

As of Thursday afternoon the local police department, who is being assisted by the SBI, is not releasing many details. Agents will only confirm this is a homicide investigation.
 
While News 3 was on the scene, we did see police tow away a large sized sedan vehicle. Agents will not say what the car has to do with their investigation or if Bentley was found inside the vehicle, deceased.

The coroner says the exact cause of death remains under investigation.
